Jaycees return from New Orleans

Welcome back to all the Delaware Jaycees who recently returned from the national convention in New Orleans. The U.S. Junior Chamber's 90th annual meeting and convention was held from June 3 through June 6. During the event, chapter members participated in trainings, competed against other Jaycees and honored the Ten Outstanding Young Americans.

Wilmington Jaycees present $500 to Junior Achievement

The first annual Wilmington Jaycees Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, March 27 was a huge success! We raised nearly $900 and donated $500 to Junior Achievement of Wilmington on Thursday, April 22.
     Grateful for the contribution, President Rob Eppes was excited to continue working with the Wilmington Jaycees in the future. We also learned that our donation will support 10 students in the Junior Achievement program. During these hard economic times, it's fulfilling to know we can provide a significant gift to a worthy organization.

Meet new people, better yourself, and get more involved in the community!  It can all start with the next Jaycee membership meeting!

Come out to The Wilmington Jaycees' upcoming membership meeting on the third Wednesday of the month.  Our meetings are usually kept to one hour and are an informal time to share with everybody all the exciting events coming up.  A pre-meeting social with light food and drinks begins at 7:15pm, and the actual meeting begins at 7:30pm.  The meetings are held at our club house located at 1309 North Scott Street in Wilmington.  For more information, please click here, or contact our Membership Development Vice President, Janet Dougherty.

Project Chairpersons and Committee Members needed

Are you ready to take a more active role in the chapter?  Do you want to improve your project management skills?  Then we have the answer for you!

How about taking on a role as project chairperson for one of our upcoming events?  We have many events coming up that we need volunteers to step up and become more involved!  Some of the events are as simple as providing information to the membership, while others might involve help from a committee.  No matter what the event, you’re never alone in planning it!

Or, perhaps are you interested in a specific area of the Jaycees?  Maybe it’s becoming more involved in the community, or helping plan individual development projects, or planning social events?  If so, we have the committee for you! Join the Community Development committee, Individual Development committee, or Membership Development committee and get yourself involved!

Please contact Abbie Uhler at a_uhler@hotmail.com if you would like more information.

Jaycees Creed

We Believe . . .

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;

That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

That government should be of laws rather than of men;

That earth's great treasure lies in human personality;

And that service to humanity is the best work of life."
