ANDREA MOSES
2000 Outstanding Young Wilmingtonian
Andrea
Moses has helped the community through a variety of activities with various
non-profit organizations.
Through
her Chiropractic Office, Andrea holds Patient Days that collect monetary, toy,
and food donations that are distributed to non-profit organizations.
Her office also participates in a program that produces child
identification cards. These cards
assist police when trying to locate and/or identify abducted or missing
children. Finally, Andrea has conducted backpack safety classes in area
schools so that children properly carry their backpacks and avoid spinal injury.
Andrea
joined the Wilmington Jaycees in 1998. She
has participated in various projects with this organization.
In 1999, she chaired the Thanksgiving Food Basket Drive, which fed over
425 families with a full dinner. This
project was possible due to Andrea’s raising over $5,000.
The project was recognized as the Outstanding Community Development
Project of the Year by the Delaware Jaycees as well as Overall Outstanding
Project of the Year for the Delaware Jaycees.
In
1999, Andrea also joined the Board of Directors of the West End Neighborhood
House. As a Board Member, she
helped the agency grow by over 25% last year.
She worked on the organization’s Adopt a Family, Santa’s workshop,
and Thanksgiving Food Basket projects.
Andrea
was born in Putnam County, New York. She
is 30 years old and resides in Pike Creek with her husband, Tim; they are
expecting their first child later this year.
Andrea and her husband are partners in Family Chiropractic Office.
Andrea holds a BS from S. Connecticut State University and a Chiropractic
degree at Life University in Georgia.
